Since 2004, Jim has been specializing in commercial leasing, sales, and complex real estate transactions in the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. market (DC, MD, VA – DMV), with a focus on tenant representation and private client sales. Because of his experience in both law and business, he brings a unique, multidisciplinary approach to a field that requires a broad range of expertise to be successful. Jim’s clients include law firms and lobbyists, technology firms, cannabis companies, healthcare providers, corporations, and consulting firms.
Jim’s practice includes office, retail, and industrial leasing and sales. Most recently, Jim has established himself as the preeminent broker in the DC Metro region for cannabis companies, having helped in the acquisition of dispensaries, processing facilities, and cultivation facilities.
Consistent with Clarefield’s focus on local, DMV-area companies, Jim loves to work with entrepreneurs and understands what’s important to them. Jim was a co-founder of Northern Virginia’s first cannabis company and also recently co-founded the DMV’s first independent portable self-storage company, SpaceMaker Mobile Storage.
Perhaps most importantly, with his legal background, Jim brings superior transaction analysis and a keen sense of fiduciary responsibility to his role as a tenant rep broker.
